LIFE TOO DIFFICULT TO HANDLE?

Help can be found!

Have you ever felt completely overwhelmed by life’s challenges? Perhaps you right this moment feel like a running back on a football field, feeling as though you are being tackled by all the difficulties of life? Indeed, trials and difficult times hit us hard, and if we are not prepared for the hit, we have a tendency to feel defeated.

The great news is that we don’t need to feel defeated by life’s problems. The reason is simple: Help can be found in the precious promises of God! While it’s sometimes hard to wonder why God allows difficulties in our lives, in the end, God’s promises never fail us in the midst of our attempt in handling difficulties.

It’s all about dependence! While it is true that life is indeed too difficult to handle on our own, God offers us the gift of His love, grace, strength, and guidance each and every time we face the challenges of life. The key, though, is to be willing to become totally dependent on God and not merely rely on our own strength and abilities and “rescue plans”. Learning to become dependent on Christ is the where the light at the end of the tunnel can be experienced.

Listen to what the Bible says, “In God’s great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade, kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God[‘s power. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have to suffer grief (i.e. hardships and difficulties) in all kinds of trials. But these have come so that your faith may be proved genuine!” (portions of I Peter 1:3-8).

So if you are looking for help, it can be found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you haven’t started that relationship yet in your life, you can simply do so right now by claiming Jesus to be your Savior and Friend. He not only will forgive you of your sins, but He will be your own personal friend and source of help in the midst of even the greatest of trials! As the Bible says, “Cast all your care on Him, for he cares for you.” (I Peter 5:7).

You will also find help and encouragement through the friends you will meet here at Stoneridge Church. A network of friendship and support await you. Feel free to call our pastor (Pastor John) with a prayer request or to talk further about this relationship side of faith, or drop by some Sunday to experience the joy of new friendships.

To be sure, life sometimes can be a touch road! But through a personal friendship with Christ, help can be found!
